How to become that person?

What does it mean to Be That Person?
It's easy to assume that being that person is the same thing as being a good person; but there is a difference. Being a good person is someone who possesses good qualities, while being that person is someone who does good things. If we can use one word to define what it means to be that person, it would be ACTION!

Being that person is someone who takes action to do good when the opportunity arises. It is action (both little and great) that makes an impact in the world around us.

Being that person is as simple as saying something nice, buying some flowers or giving a hug to someone that is feeling down. It is being kind, polite, smiling and using good manners with those around you at the grocery store or baseball game.

Being that person is recognizing the nurses at the local hospital, the first responders or others that work hard in your community and buying lunch for them once a month.

Being that person is adopting an elderly person in the neighborhood and mowing their lawn or helping with other household needs. Helping someone with a flat tire, volunteering at the local shelter or food pantry.

We must start with ourselves. Build confidence in yourself that you can provide something positive to the people around you, and then help other people see the good in themselves. You will notice that once you start to Be That Person, it will spread to people around you. Mow the yard of a neighbor that is unable to do it themselves. Suddenly, you might see another neighbor doing the same. Kindness is contagious!

To Be That Person means you take action and make an impact. Before you know it, it will catch on and you will set a trend!
